We make it easy to sell your work to a global community of art lovers and collectors. When you sell an artwork, you will receive 100% of all profits. Get handpicked by our curators for recommendation to a wide range of clients, from designers to architects to emerging and seasoned collectors.
To create your account please visit the Start Selling page and click on the ‘Sign Up Now‘ button. You must fill in the form with your billing details and make the payment of the annual fee through PayPal. This is the only payment we ask for, and it will be used to promote your artwork and get new buyers. We don’t charge any commission for sales, you will receive 100% of all profits!
Once the registration is complete, your account will be active and you will be able to see your administration panel with all our tools to start selling your art. From this moment, your name/photo will be shown in the artists page, and all your artwork will be visible to the buyers.
Finding out more about you as an artist is very important to art collectors who are considering buying your work. Your bio should include such information as: your age, where you were born and raised; where you currently live; your education; prizes and awards you’ve won; exhibitions that you’ve taken part in; and collections (both private and public) that include your work. An artist statement will also be very interesting for your followers.
You can add / edit your biography on the Edit Profile option of your private panel.
We recommend that you include the following info in your bio:
- Where you were born and raised
- Where you currently live
- Your artistic influences and where you draw inspiration
- Your medium(s)/technique(s)of choice and why
- Whether you’re self-taught or received formal education/tutelage
- Artists you’ve worked under/with
- Prizes and awards you’ve won
- Exhibitions that you’ve taken part in
- Collections (both private and public) which include your work.
- Artist statement
Photos of artists in their studio are especially of interest to collectors, critics, and art lovers. This kind of photos can increase your chances of selling work and being noticed by curators.
In the ‘Edit Profile‘ page you will find the option ‘Update your profile photo‘. Click on the ‘Upload photo‘ button and select the desired image on your computer. This image will be shown on the artists page and on your public profile.
All our artists are allowed to add their personal links such as website, portfolio and social networks. This tool will allow art collectors and art lovers to follow your news outside of Dark Art Movement. These links will be shown on your public profile.
To add these links go to the ‘Edit Profile‘ page and you will find the URL fields for:
- Your website
- Google Plus
- Vimeo
- YouTube
Buyers will contact you directly to purchase your artwork, so it is imperative that you add a valid contact details. You should keep an eye on the inbox of your email. You can also add a phone number so that interested collectors can call you directly.
This contact information will be displayed on your public profile and on each artwork page. If you prefer, you can hide this information from your public profile, and be contacted only via web form. A contact form will be displayed on each artwork page.
You can add / edit your contact details on the Edit Profile option of your private panel.
Dark Art Movement is not an intermediary of the sales you get from this site, so you will receive 100% of the sales benefit.
To add a new artwork to Dark Art Movement, click on ‘Submit Artwork‘ and fill in the form. You will be asked for the following listing information when uploading your art:
- Category: Choose the category of the artwork: Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Digital Art, Drawing, Art Print, Art Book…
- Status: For sale or sold?. The artworks for sale will be listed in the search options for buyers. If you add sold artworks, they will be added to the gallery of your public profile. In this way, buyers and art lovers can also contemplate your old works of art. You can change the status of the artwork at any time, so remember to mark the work as ‘sold’ after it has been sold.
- Artwork Title: A name that represents your artwork or the message you want to express with it.
- Artwork Description: This is a great opportunity to tell the world about your artwork, the message, your inspiration to create it, what materials were used, is framed or unframed. Statistically, works with descriptions are sold more easily than works without them. We want to hear you talk about it!
- Keywords: The more keywords, the more opportunities for buyers to see your work! Effective keywords describe such elements as: medium, subject, predominant colors, mood, materials, artists who inspired the work, and anything else that is distinctive or recognizable in the artwork.
- Artwork Price: When pricing your art, it is important to adopt a consistent fact-based price structure. As an artist, you should always be prepared to explain how and why you set your price. Prices need to be based on recent sales, the cost of labour and material, and comparisons with similar works. Compare your art to what sells, not what does not sell.
- Extra Fields: Depending on the category you have chosen, you will see some extra fields required for that category. For example: dimensions, size, date of creation or serie.
- Images: The more quality the photograph has, the more attractive it will be for buyers. We highly encourage you to add additional images of your artwork hanging on a wall, detail shots, close ups, the edges, and the back of the artwork. You can add up to 10 images for each artwork.
If you need to change your password, you can do it as many times as you want from your private panel.
